Post from IM

My IM wanted to add a post to the blog the other day. She wrote some wonderful words but had some technical difficulty posting to the blog. So on behalf of my IM, here is her post.....

IM (Intended Mother)
Hello, Well what can I say I'm the Intended Mother of "myovenherbun"! Words will never be able to say how I feel about what Lisa is doing for my husband and I. It is the greatest gift that anyone could do for someone. Lisa is a remarkable woman to do this for us. We will be forever thankful that Lisa has come into our life. We will be friends forever in this journey. Reading Lisa's blog made me cry! Tears of joy though....and I love the "myovenherbun"...very clever....we could have t-shirts made.....and I'll get "mybunheroven"! IM....xoxoxox

Countdown Begins

So the dates are set for blood work and ultrasound. December 1st and 8th will be the dates. These tests will help to determine when the transfer will be. IM and I were under the impression that it would be six weeks from now but apparently things don't move at our speed. Looks like the transfer will be done closer to the middle-end of January. It's a little disappointing having to wait longer but it's just a couple weeks....hopefully. We are in the hands of the doctors....why don't I have much confidence in that?

How It All Began

Let me give you a little background history on why I would decide to do something like this. When I was 8 my aunt had a baby who grew his angel wings two days after he was born. My other aunt was never able to have her own children but adopted two boys who are now in their late teens. Watching these women who mean the world to me go through these struggles had a huge impact on my life. So even at 8 yrs old, I decided that if I ever had the chance to help a woman like one of them then that was what I was meant to do.
At 16 I learned about surrogacy and after some research decided when I was old enough and ready I would become a surrogate.
After our twin girls were born eleven months ago I knew our family was complete. Yet, I was not done having children. It was now my opportunity to find the couple that I was meant to help.
I started searching websites and forums. I posted an ad on a surrogate website and was contacted by a representative of the couple. After a few emails back and forth I had phone conversation with the IM (Intended Mother). After a two hour conversation I knew that I had just found my couple.
I am lucky to have the love and full support of a fantastic husband who has been beside me through all of this. He has understood from the beginning why this is so important to me. I'm truly lucky to have him in my life.
So we've had our early tests done, blood work and all that stuff that the doctors need to accept me as a surrogate. Now we are just counting down the days to the transfer. Over the next few weeks I will have more blood work and ultrasounds done to pinpoint the exact date of when the transfer will happen.
I will keep you posted.

First Post of My Journey

Hello, welcome to my blog. Thanks for joining me along my journey. If we haven't already met let me introduce myself. My name is Lisa. I have 4 children ages 7, 2 and 11 month old twins. I have a stepson who is 12yrs old. I myself am 33.

So you may be asking "what journey is Lisa about to embark on" Well I will tell you. I am about to start the process to become a surrogate for a wonderful couple. I am writing this blog to share my experiences during this time. There will be ups and downs, morning sickness and mood swings. I hope that you follow along and share in the happiness at the end when two people will receive the gift that they have been wishing for, for so long.
